From the Church Office (July 2009)

Dear WCBC Church Family,

In July we celebrate Independence Day, a day that represents courage, great sacrifice and freedom. We enjoy, and often take for granted, the wonderful freedoms in our country that the rest of the world knows little or nothing about.
Christians appreciate our ability to assemble and worship freely. We must continue to treasure and preserve our freedoms. Freedom is extremely costly to obtain but can be lost quietly, gradually and easily if we don’t pay attention.
In life, ultimate freedom comes through faith in Jesus Christ. A Christian living in the most oppressive country in the world can be free on the inside and look forward to his real home in heaven. The Bible says, “…if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36 NIV) are you free on the inside? Are your family members, friends, neighbors and coworkers?
We had a wonderful vacation Bible School. Thank you to all who served in VBS this year. The youth, preteen and children’s camps are all happening this month. Camps played a significant role in my spiritual development. Please pray for our youth and children as they encounter God at the different camps this month.
The summer is one of the busiest and most expensive times of the year for the church with all the events and activities that take place and the higher utilities. Please continue to participate and give joyfully and faithfully during the summer months. Remember to read your Bible, pray and minister to others. How about reading a new Christian book over your vacation? May God bless you this summer.
                                                                          By His Grace,
                                                                              Pastor Shane

Come Join Us On July 5th

As God has faded from our national culture, our domestic problems have compounded until America now finds itself in turbulent waters, struggling to stay afloat. Politicians and citizens alike are looking for an answer to the questions: “What can we do?” “Is there any hope for our country?” God is merciful. He has not given up on us yet, but there is only one course of action that will save our nation from impending peril – repentance. God longs for us to turn again to Him. Join us on July 5 during our 10:45 am worship service for a serious look at our country and what is necessary for God to once again shed His grace on America…From Sea to Shining Sea.
