Baptists are a diverse group of believers in Jesus Christ. Every Baptist church is independent, although a church may voluntarily identify and cooperate with other churches to support ministries and missions.

Baptists have beliefs that may make them different from other Christian churches. Here is a brief summary of Baptist distinctives:

The Holy Bible is God’s Word, it is trustworthy and true.
The Holy Bible is the authority for church and individual beliefs and practices.
Forgiveness and eternal life are by God’s grace through personal faith in Jesus Christ alone, not earned or maintained by good works.
Once a person has truly believed in Jesus as his or her Savior and Lord, he or she is eternally secure in Jesus. (Perseverance of the Saints)
Believers may approach God directly through Jesus Christ. (Priesthood of the Believer)
There are two ordinances for the Church:
Believer’s Baptism (by immersion)
Lord’s Supper (Communion)
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are powerful symbolic observances for believers but do not result in forgiveness or salvation.
Participating in, praying for and supporting missions and evangelism is a major priority.

Walnut Creek Baptist Church identifies and cooperates with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist General Convention of Texas and Parker Baptist Association.
