How YOU Can Become a Christian

The decision to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord is the most important decision you will ever make. Here’s how you can become a Christian:

• Realize you have sinned against God and are subject to God’s judgement and eternity in hell. (to sin is to disobey God’s commands revealed in the Bible)
• Believe Jesus Christ literally died on a cross to pay the penalty for your sins and rose from the dead as described in the Bible.
• Ask God to forgive your sins and be willing, with God’s help, to turn away from your sins. (repent)
  Ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior and Lord. Use your own words and cry out to God. You can pray something like…

“Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that you died on a cross and rose from the dead for my sins. Please forgive me for my sins and help me turn away from them. I ask you to come into my life and be my Savior and Lord.”

Once you receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you will want to follow up on our decision as soon as possible by:

• Sharing your decision to receive Jesus to a Pastor and local church.
• Being baptized and joining a local church.
• Joining a Sunday School class or Bible study group for spiritual growth, ministry and accountability.
• Developing the practice of regular personal Bible reading and study and prayer.
• Discovering your spiritual gifts and find a place to serve in a ministry.
